Hibernate builds an Object/Relational mapping layer from an XML definition file. Hibernate is a whole infrastructure for database access. A small part of this infrastructure is the generator.

Norman Richards is one of the authors of Manning's new title on XDoclet entitled XDoclet in Action. The book is available through Manning's early access program (MEAP). XDoclet is probably the most popular code generation tool available for Java. As evidence of this Apple's Panther release of OS X, their latest, includes both JBoss and XDoclet as part of the standard installation.
